WEEK 1 & 2 SENIOR UPDATE BY DAN DOUGLAS

2nd Team

Like the 1st the 2nd Team have also had an excellent start to the season. Week 1 saw them travel to Hoghton where after being put in to bat first the amassed 154 all out. This looked a decent score though it should probably have been more given that none of the bottom 6 batsmen reached double figures. Pick of the batting were Nick Wilkinson (35) and Zac Christie (44). In reply Hoghton struggled to 102 all out as Longridge were never really troubled. Pick of the bowling was the evergreen Roger Kaye with 6 for 44 ably supported by Dan Wilson who picked up 3 for 41.

Week 2 saw Norcross the visitors to LCC. Batting first Norcross got off to a whirlwind start with Parker (59) looking particularly dangerous. The introduction of Patel and Wilson to the attack brought the control and wickets that the skipper was after though and in the end they managed a decent if not all that imposing 167 for 6. The reply was ruthless as all 5 batsmen used contributed well. James Fairclough in particular was in imperious form as he smashed 79 off just 66 deliveries to see LCC home for the loss of 3 wickets in under 38 overs. So 22 points out of 24 for the 2nds.

Player of the (2) weeks
